About the job
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior GCP DevOps Engineer to join our collaborative team.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based solutions with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a hybrid environment, demonstrates expertise in modern DevOps practices, and has a passion for mentoring and leading teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
Kindly note that this role supports remote work, but only from within Ukraine.
Responsibilities
Architect and guide the development of best practices suited for a cloud/on-prem hybrid environment with a focus on cloud
Devise and enforce organizational policies to maintain project and system alignment
Use modern technology and practices, including GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Deploy and maintain infrastructure components such as VPCs, IAM policies, GKE clusters, KMS, VMs, and DNS
Optimize costs using FinOps strategies to ensure resource efficiency
Lead the migration of virtual machines to container-based solutions
Document processes and changes with excellent detail and clarity while sharing knowledge across the team
Demonstrate consistent use of Google Cloud Platform within development and operational tasks
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code for scalability and security
Ensure the smooth operation and management of Kubernetes clusters
Requirements
3+ years of experience in DevOps engineering roles, with a focus on cloud-based environments
Expertise in Google Cloud Platform and tools like GKE, IAM, and VPC
Background in Infrastructure as Code practices, including Terraform or equivalent tools
Skills in Kubernetes deployment and orchestration
Competency in cost optimization strategies, such as FinOps
Proficiency in containerization and migration from VMs to containers
Excellent documentation skills and team collaboration abilities
Familiarity with GitOps methodologies and modern DevOps practices
Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)
Nice to have
Understanding of cross-cloud solutions alongside GCP
Familiarity with security best practices for cloud systems
