About The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineer with active SC clearance to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in architecting, delivering, and maintaining complex cloud and digital platforms that support large-scale public sector transformation initiatives within the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing agile delivery pipelines, managing cloud and infrastructure operations, and ensuring the reliability, security, and compliance of critical digital services. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely within the UK, contributing to high-profile projects that have a significant societal impact. Qualifications Current, fully transferrable SC clearance and residence in the UK for the past five years. Extensive hands-on experience with Azure, hybrid, and legacy environments. Proficiency in implementing and supporting DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment strategies. Strong understanding of ITIL processes such as Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management within Azure DevOps environments. Experience interpreting client contracts and SLAs, translating them into operational and technical requirements. Proven ability to troubleshoot, remediate SLA breaches, and implement technical and process-based mitigations. Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical issues, risks, and solutions to senior stakeholders and clients. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively across engineering, platform, security, and operations teams. Knowledge of cost management and chargeback models within Azure cloud services. Strong technical and business acumen with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making. Experience aligning engineering initiatives with broader cloud and digital transformation strategies. Self-motivated, proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Ability to operate effectively under pressure, especially during incident management scenarios. Creative and pragmatic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement and automation. Proficiency in working with complex systems, dependencies, and evolving architectures. Responsibilities Design, develop, and support scalable and reliable Azure DevOps pipelines to facilitate continuous integration and delivery across multiple environments. Operate and support cloud, hybrid, and legacy systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. Maintain and update operational runbooks, architecture diagrams, and comprehensive service documentation. Monitor service performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement technical solutions to prevent recurrence. Interpret and enforce SLAs, ensuring service delivery aligns with contractual commitments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security, compliance, and cost-efficiency of cloud services. Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Lead incident response efforts, providing technical expertise to resolve issues swiftly and effectively. Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for Azure DevOps and cloud operations. Engage with stakeholders to communicate technical status, risks, and strategic recommendations clearly and confidently. Support the implementation of cloud transformation initiatives, aligning technical efforts with organizational goals.
