We Are Looking For a Hands-on DevOps Engineer To design and operate scalable pipelines for collecting, storing, and replaying drone sensor datafrom active field operations build and maintain CI/CD systems with strong quality gates, hardware-in-the-loop testing,and signed release pipelines provision and manage a growing fleet of edge devices through reproducible image builds,offline provisioning workflows, and pre-deployment validation We move at an extreme tempo and priorities shift quickly — you should be comfortable owning infrastructure in an environment where the problem can change underneath you. Tasks What You Will Be Working On Building offline-capable tooling for field data capture and post-mission debugging Designing CI/CD pipelines with automated testing gates and reproducible builds Implementing hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test infrastructure for autonomous drone software Designing secure, reproducible image builds and provisioning workflows for air-gapped edge devices Instrumenting system performance across the ROS 2 stack and cloud backends Architecting cloud data pipelines for drone telemetry, imagery, and MCAP bag files Hardening infrastructure against supply-chain and remote-access threats Requirements We are looking for people who thrive on the vision to safe lives, rapid iteration, and hands-on flight testing. You take full ownership of your subsyste, from modelling to real-world validation. Required At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or infrastructure Strong Linux skills and comfort working close to the metal Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar) Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Docker Compose; Kubernetes a plus) Understanding of software security fundamentals — supply chain, access control, secrets management Nice to have Experience with embedded or edge device provisioning — reproducible OS images, offline deployment, and hardware bring-up workflows Cloud experience — storage pipelines, Cloud Run, IAM Familiarity with ROS 2 or robotics development workflows Experience with hardware-in-the-loop or simulation-based testing Scripting fluency in Python and/or Bash Knowledge of secure communication protocols and networking Benefits Why CDDS Direct impact on mission-critical technology shaping Europe’s security landscape Fast-moving startup environment with high ownership Work with a highly technical, ambitious, and hands-on team Real-world testing, deployments, and customer demonstrations Attractive compensation Details Location: Close to Zurich Hardbrücke (Zurich City) Start date: ASAP Environment: Rapidly growing deep-tech startup, high-impact mission If your interested in the position please apply via this form.
