T3 Infrastructure Engineer

About the job We are currently looking for a Tier 3 Infrastructure Engineer to join a global technology company that designs, builds, and operates large-scale network, cloud, and digital infrastructure solutions, supporting millions of customers and businesses worldwide. Key Responsibilities Take a senior role in managing, maintaining, and developing the organization's server infrastructure. Administer and support both Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and legacy Solaris environments. Lead the ongoing migration from Solaris to RHEL, ensuring a smooth and stable transition. Manage and optimize the RHEL infrastructure, focusing on performance, reliability, and security. Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues, acting as a Tier 3 escalation point for Linux-related incidents. Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and application teams to support business-critical platforms and services. Contribute to infrastructure modernization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure high availability, system stability, security, and compliance with operational standards. Create and maintain technical documentation and provide guidance to Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams where needed. Essential Requirements (RHEL )• Senior experience with Linux Redhat (8/9), operating at a Tier 3 level .• Knowledge of RHELOpenShift .• Expert-level Ansible playbook development for infrastructure automation .Desirable Requirements (Microsoft )• Senior experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2019/2022/202 5• Knowledge of Microsoft WSUS and GPO setups with ability to review/adjust/explain setup s Technical Skill s:• Senior experience with Solaris 11• Preferably knowledge of AIX 7, HP-UX 11.31, Solaris 10• Experience with compiling/debugging software & OS updates for central deployment on Redhat and Solaris 11• Experience creating new OS builds from ground up following VZ hardening/deployment polici es Required Certificatio ns:• Linux: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) on RHEL 8 or 9.• Windows: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (or legacy MCSE: core Infrastructur e).• Other: Any advanced Unix (Solaris/AIX) or Containerization (CKA/Red Hat OpenShift) certifications are a significant pl us.• Perl and python coding & reading skills including usage of version control tools like g it.• Ansible skills, including writing playbooks from ground up to execution with proper privileges/security in mind to centrally (re)configure systems and servi ces• Knowledge of Splunk setup & maintenance including querying of d ata• CheckMK knowle dge• Docker, Kubernetes knowle dge• Working knowledge of Oracle and HP equipment (i.e. firmware updates, simple part exchang es)• Ability to support BigFix and downstream image builds from it using PXE b oot• Familiar with Synology storage & operation of devi ces• Knowledge of backup products such as TSM, Commvault and NetApp snapsh ots• Familiar & operational knowledge of virtualization techniques such as VMware, Proxmox, Hype r-V• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP fundament als General/Soft Ski lls:• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Eng lish• Ability to work both independently and within ‘virtual teams’ where members and team leaders are geographically separ ated• Experience in support of large production 24*7 datacentre environm ents• Be an active contributor of a distributed 24x7 operations environ ment• Act as a third level escalation resource for Operations t eams
