About The Role At Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), we are seeking talented Systems Integration Engineers at mid-level and senior levels to join our 787 Systems Integration Engineering team based in North Charleston, South Carolina. This pivotal role involves working within a dynamic and diverse team supporting the design, configuration, production, certification, and delivery of the 787 aircraft. The Systems Integration Engineer will play a key role in supporting large-scale multisystem projects, from conceptualization through testing, certification, production, and delivery phases. The position offers an exceptional opportunity to gain in-depth exposure to core aircraft systems, interface management, change control, and project leadership in a fast-paced environment. Candidates will be involved in supporting the entire 787 fleet in service, addressing fleet and safety issues, and contributing to the strategic direction of airplane systems. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about aerospace engineering, problem-solving, and working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in engineering or related fields, along with relevant experience in systems engineering or integration. Basic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry. Candidates should have at least two years of experience performing complex systems engineering or system integration work and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Preferred qualifications for senior roles include over five years of relevant experience, experience within the aerospace industry, and prior engagement with executive leadership. Knowledge of aircraft certification processes, production support, and airline customer support are highly valued. The ability to travel domestically and internationally, excellent communication skills, and strong project management capabilities are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Support cross-functional teams through the development and integration of large-scale multi-system projects, ensuring seamless system interfaces and functionality. Lead efforts involving various aircraft systems including Environmental Controls, Mechanical Hydraulics, Flight Controls, Electrical Sub-Systems, Flight Deck, Cabin Systems, Network Systems, Avionics, Cyber Security, and more. Collaborate with safety, regulatory agencies, and multiple Boeing program teams such as change management, supply chain, production engineering, manufacturing, operations, and delivery centers to ensure project alignment and compliance. Implement best practices in systems engineering, process improvements, and ensure adherence to certification standards and procedures. Lead and influence cross-functional teams outside formal reporting lines to achieve project milestones and resolve complex technical issues. Communicate effectively with diverse engineering teams and executive management to synthesize complex technical information and present recommendations. Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring on-time and within-budget project execution. Support fleet-wide issues, safety resolutions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of aircraft systems and operational strategies. Travel domestically and internationally as required to support program activities, customer engagements, and supplier collaborations.
