Staff Software Engineer, Capacity Engineering

About the job For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer Capacity Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $177,185 – $364,795 annually Responsibilities Improve efficiency of large-scale shared environments like Kubernetes Enhance performance of the distributed systems that drive the company Develop and mature profiling and optimization capabilities Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering and SRE teams for resilient tech foundations Leverage AI to accelerate performance investigations Build tooling for self-service efficiency insights Iterate and validate optimization approaches with experiments Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience Deep understanding of infrastructure capacity and performance Experience leading large-scale efficiency initiatives on Kubernetes Strong technical and performance engineering skills Proficiency in software development languages like Java, Python, and C++ Excellent communication skills for complex technical issues Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments Ability to leverage AI for workflow improvement Benefits Flexible work model requiring in-office collaboration 1-2 times/month Equitable and inclusive workplace culture Opportunities for collaboration and connection Eligible for equity compensation Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
