Staff Software Engineer (AI Governance)

Accountabilities: As a Staff Software Engineer focused on AI Governance, you will help design, build, and evolve the systems that enable secure AI adoption within developer environments. You will contribute across the stack while driving engineering excellence, security best practices, and scalable solutions for enterprise customers. Design and develop product features that advance secure remote development and AI-powered developer workflows. Build and maintain enterprise-grade AI governance components, including systems for LLM access management, auditing, cost controls, authentication, and security policies. Develop scalable distributed systems using backend and frontend technologies while integrating with AI providers and developer platforms. Contribute to open-source projects and improve integrations with modern developer tools and environments. Collaborate with product, design, engineering, and external partners to deliver impactful platform capabilities. Define technical approaches, document architecture decisions, and create operational knowledge for long-term maintainability. Partner with customer-facing teams to understand enterprise requirements and improve real-world adoption. Champion software engineering best practices, including security, reliability, testing, observability, and maintainability. Rapidly prototype, validate, and deliver solutions in an evolving AI technology landscape. Mentor engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement. Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with strong full-stack capabilities and a passion for AI infrastructure, developer tools, and secure enterprise systems. You should be comfortable solving complex technical problems, working independently, and collaborating across teams. 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems. 1+ years of hands-on experience developing with Go, ideally in a recent engineering role. Strong experience designing and building distributed systems. Proficiency with backend development, APIs, and scalable infrastructure. Experience with modern frontend technologies such as TypeScript and React is a plus. Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities with a track record of driving solutions to completion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams. Self-motivated approach with curiosity, creativity, and strong analytical thinking. Experience with developer tooling, platform engineering, infrastructure-as-code, or related domains is preferred. Familiarity with AI technologies, LLM integrations, or emerging developer tools is a strong advantage.
