Job Description: We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong Snowflake and Azure expertise to help scale and strengthen our data platform. In this role, you’ll lead core Snowflake administration, security, access management, and Azure integration in a highly regulated healthcare environment. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to improve reliability, strengthen governance, and build scalable automation that supports mission-critical healthcare data solutions. Responsibilities: Own and support a multi-account Snowflake environment, including platform configuration, cost controls, cross-account sharing, replication, and failover. Design and maintain secure access controls across Snowflake, including role-based access, network policies, SSO/SAML, SCIM provisioning, OAuth, and service account authentication. Partner with engineering teams to integrate Snowflake with core Azure services such as Key Vault, ADLS Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Monitor, and private connectivity solutions. Build and improve automation and platform tooling using Python, Snowpark, JavaScript, Terraform, and Azure DevOps. Support platform reliability, governance, and operational excellence through audit logging, access analysis, lifecycle management, and orchestration tooling. Help evaluate and enable emerging Snowflake AI capabilities in a secure, governed way. Document processes, contribute to technical standards, and share knowledge with peers across the organization. Qualifications: 5+ years of hands-on Snowflake administration experience in production environments, including multi-account structures. 8+ years of total IT/engineering experience. Strong experience designing and supporting Snowflake security and access controls, including RBAC, network policies, SSO/SAML, SCIM, OAuth, and service account authentication. Experience supporting secure platform operations in regulated environments. Strong Python, SQL, and JavaScript skills, with experience building automation and platform tooling. Experience with Terraform and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Entra ID/Azure AD, Key Vault, and ADLS Gen2. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively across technical and business teams. Proven ability to operate independently, manage multiple workstreams, and deliver in a regulated (HIPAA/HITRUST) environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable in cross-functional and stakeholder-facing settings. Strong Python skills, including snowflake-connector-python, Snowpark, and automation scripting. Hands-on JavaScript for Snowflake stored procedures and UDFs. Advanced SQL and experience with Terraform for Snowflake resource provisioning. Experience building and supporting Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on Azure experience with Entra ID/Azure AD, Key Vault, and ADLS Gen2. Ability to integrate Snowflake securely with core Azure services and enterprise identity controls. Experience using modern AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar to improve productivity and accelerate engineering workflows. Preferred Qualifications: Snowflake SnowPro Core or Advanced certification. Azure certification (AZ-900 minimum; AZ-104 or DP-203 preferred). Experience with dbt Cloud or dbt Core in a production environment. Experience operating MageAI, Airflow, or Prefect in AKS or equivalent Kubernetes environment. Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) for data workload hosting. Snowflake Cortex AI hands-on experience: Cortex Analyst, Document AI, LLM SQL functions. Contributions to knowledge sharing: open-source, technical writing, internal documentation standards.
