About The Role We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Product Owner / Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the USSTRATCOM Nuclear Mission. This role involves working within a highly secure environment to develop and maintain mission software solutions that adhere to strict standards and operate within a DevSecOps framework. The successful candidate will collaborate with mission stakeholders to elicit requirements, develop system designs, and oversee the implementation of web-based Java mission systems tailored for nuclear command and control capabilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to national security efforts by supporting critical strategic systems in a dynamic, agile environment. Qualifications Proven experience in eliciting requirements from mission stakeholders and translating them into technical specifications. Strong presentation skills, capable of communicating designs and plans effectively to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to coordinate technical and schedule tradeoffs to meet project objectives. Hands-on experience working within Agile Scrum methodologies, including work assignment and backlog management. Background working in a software team environment, with a focus on mission-critical systems. Must be a US Citizen and eligible for a government security clearance at the Top Secret level. Responsibilities Collaborate with USSTRATCOM mission stakeholders to gather, analyze, and prioritize requirements for mission software systems. Define and maintain product backlogs, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and technical feasibility. Work closely with development teams to translate user stories into technical tasks, providing clarifications and acceptance criteria. Present design proposals and project plans to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with strategic goals. Support the development of web-based Java applications, ensuring they meet security, performance, and reliability standards. Coordinate technical tradeoffs and schedule adjustments to ensure timely delivery of mission-critical systems. Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to continuously improve team performance and product quality. Maintain comprehensive documentation of requirements, designs, and testing procedures to support audits and future enhancements. Ensure compliance with all security protocols and standards required for classified government projects.
