About this role

As a System Architect within the Global IT Architecture team, you will define and deliver Solution Architectures for the Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) programme, a strategic initiative to harmonise the bank’s end-to-end client lifecycle processes. You will work alongside Domain and Foundation Architects to bridge architecture and engineering, ensuring solutions align with target architecture and comply with enterprise standards. Your responsibilities include designing and owning solution architectures for applications, ensuring architectural alignment across the software lifecycle, identifying and managing architecture debt, initiating and formalising key decisions through Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), advising and mentoring software engineers and Tech Leads, collaborating with Product Owners to refine business initiatives, contributing to the global Domain Architecture Board, and enforcing architecture governance across development teams.

As a System Architect within the Global IT Architecture team, you play a central role in defining and delivering Solution Architectures for the Client Lifecycle Management (CLM) programme - a strategic initiative to harmonise the bank’s end-to-end client lifecycle processes. Working alongside Domain and Foundation Architects, you bridge architecture and engineering, ensuring solutions align with target architecture and comply with enterprise standards. YOUR CHALLENGE Design and own Solution Architectures for applications in delivery, ensuring adherence to domain-level targets and architectural principles Ensure architectural alignment across the software lifecycle, from concept through testing, release, and operational phases Identify, document, and manage architecture debt arising from deviations between transitional implementations and long-term goals Initiate and formalise key decisions through Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), securing approval from relevant architecture boards Advise and mentor software engineers and Tech Leads on technical implementation, ensuring feasibility, scalability, and compliance Collaborate with Product Owners to refine business initiatives, translating requirements into actionable capabilities and building blocks Actively contribute to the global Domain Architecture Board: present blueprints, review peer designs, and help shape the overall target architecture Enforce architecture governance across development teams and uphold quality standards throughout delivery YOUR PROFILE 3+ years as a Senior Architect and 5+ years in lead/senior software engineering roles with prior exposure to highly regulated sectors, ideally banking or financial services Full-lifecycle ownership of solution architectures - from design and implementation to operations Demonstrated ability to evaluate architectural alternatives and make sound trade-offs under constraints Skilled in analysing complex business needs and transforming them into robust, scalable technical solutions Strong command of modern architecture styles: microservices, event-driven systems, modular monoliths Familiarity with integration patterns, Kafka, data streaming, Kubernetes, and hybrid cloud/on-premise environments Proficient in UML and ArchiMate modelling, with hands-on experience using EA tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect Good understanding of BPMN 2.0 and business process modelling Deep knowledge of DevOps practices and software engineering excellence Certification advantage (e.g., SAFe); proven experience applying architecture within agile/SAFe delivery frameworks Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder coordination skills Fluent in English, with good knowledge in German We Only Consider Candidates Who Can Start Immediately.
