Senior SRE/DevOps Engineer

About the job About the Role V-Thru is looking for a Senior SRE/DevOps Engineer to build and scale our infrastructure and deployment systems as we grow our QCommerce platform. This role will own the reliability, observability, and automation of our production systems, working closely with our engineering team to accelerate delivery while maintaining high availability. You'll have the autonomy to shape our infrastructure strategy and implement modern DevOps practices in a fast-paced startup environment. Core Responsibilities 1- Infrastructure & Platform Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure supporting our backend services Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, enabling fast and safe releases Implement infrastructure as code practices for reproducible and version-controlled environments Optimize infrastructure costs while maintaining performance and reliability standards Evaluate and integrate new infrastructure technologies and services 2- Site Reliability & Monitoring Ensure high availability and performance of production systems handling real-time operations Design and implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions Lead incident response, conduct root cause analysis, and drive systematic reliability improvements Establish SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for critical services Participate in on-call rotation and own escalation processes 3- Developer Experience & Automation Build tools and automation that improve engineering team productivity and deployment confidence Streamline developer workflows from local development through production deployment Implement automated testing, security scanning, and quality gates in CI/CD pipelines Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, runbooks, and operational procedures Reduce manual toil through intelligent automation 4- Performance & Optimization Monitor and optimize application and infrastructure performance Identify and resolve bottlenecks in services, databases, and message queues Implement caching strategies and optimize resource utilization Conduct capacity planning and scaling exercises Balance cost optimization with performance requirements 5- Security & Compliance Implement security best practices across infrastructure and deployment pipelines Manage secrets, credentials, and access control systems Ensure compliance with relevant standards and conduct security audits Stay current with security vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation efforts Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or infrastSo ructure engineering roles Strong expertise with containerization (Docker) and orchestration technologies Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar) Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and infrastructure as code tools Strong Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, Sentry, or similar) Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Go, Bash, or similar) Track record of improving system reliability and team velocity Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Preferred Qualifications Experience in startup or high-growth e-commerce/logistics environments Knowledge of Kubernetes and service mesh technologies Familiarity with Firebase, RabbitMQ, and message queue systems Experience with database performance tuning and optimization Background working with PHP, Go, or Node.js applications Experience implementing canary deployments and progressive delivery Understanding of SRE principles and practices from industry leaders Contributions to DevOps/infrastructure open source projects What Success Looks Like Deployment frequency increases while deployment failures decrease Mean time to recovery (MTTR) for incidents shows measurable improvement Infrastructure costs are optimized without sacrificing reliability Engineering team reports improved developer experience and deployment confidence System observability provides clear visibility into service health and performance Automated processes replace manual operational tasks On-call burden is reduced through better automation and reliability What We Offer Opportunity to build infrastructure foundation for a growing QCommerce platform Autonomy to make technical decisions and shape infrastructure strategy Work with modern technologies and introduce best practices Direct impact on engineering team productivity and product reliability Collaborative environment with experienced engineering leadership
