About the job Senior Platform Engineer (AWS, Kubernetes & Data Platforms) Contractor · Remote in Mexico · Full-time · 3-month project (potential extension) About the Role We're looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to build, maintain, and optimize the infrastructure powering enterprise analytics platforms. In this role, you'll manage cloud-native data infrastructure, support production deployments, improve platform reliability, and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available solutions. Responsibilities Develop, deploy, and maintain production dbt and Airflow environments. Manage Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data applications. Perform system upgrades, migrations, and scheduled maintenance. Troubleshoot infrastructure issues impacting data pipelines. Implement infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and logging. Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools. Apply security best practices and support compliance initiatives. Support ML compute infrastructure and platform scalability. Partner with data engineering teams to optimize platform performance. Create and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks. Participate in an on-call rotation for production support. Requirements 6–10 years of experience in platform or infrastructure engineering. 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration. 3+ years of experience working with AWS or another major cloud platform. 2+ years managing data platform technologies such as Airflow, dbt, or similar. Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible). Strong Python and Bash scripting skills. Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch. Understanding of networking concepts including DNS, load balancers, VPNs, and proxies. Experience implementing monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or the ELK Stack. Knowledge of security best practices, including IAM, SSO, OIDC, and encryption. Nice to Have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant cloud certifications. Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration skills. Experience supporting production environments and incident response. Why join us?
