Senior Devops Engineer / Platform Engineer - Remote (OS IR35)

About the job We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to design and implement the production cloud infrastructure for a new platform - Contract role for an initial 3 month period (OSIR35) in the Fintech industry. Working closely with the development team and Head of Security, designing building and delivering a secure, scalable and production-ready cloud platform. This role provides scope to define the cloud architecture, deployment approach and operational tooling. The Role Key responsibilities include: Designing and implementing production and staging environments in the cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP). Advising on hosting architecture and infrastructure choices Building containerised environments Docker, Kubernetes or ECS Implementing Infrastructure as Code Terraform, Pulumi, CDK or similar Creating CI CD pipelines for automated build, test and deployment Establishing release, rollback and deployment processes Setting up monitoring, logging and alerting. Designing secure cloud infrastructure Supporting security best practice, GDPR considerations and penetration testing readiness Producing documentation, runbooks and handover materials Skills and Experience required Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Strong understanding of cloud networking, security and Identity & Access Management (IAM). Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or Amazon ECS. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform. Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI or equivalent. Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design, automation and deployment. Experience with monitoring, logging and observability tools. Ability to collaborate effectively with software engineering teams and external partners. Hands-on experience with Web3 or blockchain development would be highly advantageous. Experience within the fintech sector would be advantageous. Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
