We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to join a global programme focused on building modern, scalable, and interoperable data ecosystems that enable better analytics, automation, and decision-making across complex environments. This role combines Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Cloud Technologies, Data Governance, and Systems Integration, offering the opportunity to work on highly visible international projects involving multiple platforms, stakeholders, and data sources. 💻 What You'll Be Doing Data Architecture Design and implement enterprise-grade data architectures Define Canonical Data Models and data harmonisation frameworks Establish scalable integration strategies across multiple systems and platforms Design data governance, metadata, and data quality frameworks Document architectural decisions, standards, and best practices Data Engineering & Integration Design and oversee ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL Build data ingestion, transformation, validation, and harmonisation processes Implement automated data quality, cleansing, and deduplication mechanisms Support the creation of trusted, analytics-ready datasets Optimise performance, scalability, and reliability across data platforms APIs & System Connectivity Design and develop APIs and integration services Define middleware and connector strategies Support event-driven and service-oriented architectures Enable seamless integration across cloud and hybrid environments Analytics & Reporting Enablement Support analytical and reporting data environments Enable reliable data exports and downstream data consumption Collaborate with analytics, reporting, and business stakeholders Support business intelligence and dashboard initiatives Innovation & Continuous Improvement Evaluate emerging technologies and modern data engineering practices Explore AI-assisted approaches for data integration and automation Contribute to the evolution of enterprise data capabilities Promote scalability, maintainability, and operational excellence 🧰 Required Technical Skills Strong Experience With Python SQL Data Architecture Data Engineering ETL / ELT Pipelines Data Modelling API Design & Integration Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) Data Governance Experience In Enterprise Data Platforms Data Integration Metadata Management Data Quality Frameworks Distributed Systems Event-Driven Architecture Workflow Orchestration System Integration Nice To Have Enterprise Integration Platforms Industry Data Standards Master Data Management (MDM) AI / LLM Integration Large-Scale Data Transformation Programmes Experience within regulated environments Public Sector or International Projects 🎯 What We're Looking For 8+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or related fields Strong experience designing scalable enterprise data solutions Proven experience integrating multiple systems and heterogeneous data sources Experience translating business requirements into robust technical solutions Strong architectural thinking and problem-solving capabilities Experience working with international stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams Excellent communication and documentation skills Fluent English communication skills 📍 Location & Eligibility To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must: Currently reside in Portugal Hold a valid work authorization for Portugal Be legally eligible to work in Portugal without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future Be available to work within European business hours Unfortunately, visa sponsorship and relocation support are not available for this position. 🔎 Recruitment Process Our recruitment process has been designed to be efficient and transparent: Step 1 - Talent Acquisition Interview (30 minutes) Step 2 - Technical & Experience Validation Step 3 - Client Interview Step 4 - Offer & Onboarding Please note that additional technical assessments, case studies, or architecture discussions may be requested depending on the stage of the process. 🌱 Why Join?
