Remote Senior Data Platform Engineer

About the job Role: Senior Platform Engineer on the Data Platform team, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data models, access patterns, and infrastructure to support transactional systems. Key Duties: Define and evolve data schemas in Postgres, develop data access standards with Python and Typescript, lead migration to improved data models, collaborate with product teams to ensure correct data at source, and enhance data quality and usability. Own initiatives like database migration, review SQL code, optimize queries, and improve scalability, security, and reliability of AWS-based database systems. Mentor engineers, build tooling, and contribute to architecture improvements. Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot critical issues, and work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with hybrid or remote options. Qualifications: 4+ years in Backend or Data Platform Engineering, 3+ years with SQL and backend code, expertise in Python, data modeling, observability tools, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills: Typescript, Golang, AWS services, Snowflake, data engineering tools, event-driven architectures.
