Talisman is supporting a global power generation technology leader in the search for a hands-on engineering professional to support a highly automated manufacturing operation. The organization designs and manufactures critical equipment that underpins power generation infrastructure worldwide and is continuing to invest in manufacturing excellence, automation, operational reliability, and production capability across its North American footprint.
This position sits at the intersection of manufacturing, reliability, and automation engineering. The successful individual will spend significant time on the production floor identifying equipment issues, improving process performance, and driving initiatives that enhance uptime, quality, and operational efficiency. The role offers exposure to both day-to-day problem solving and longer-term manufacturing improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead investigations into equipment and process issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
Support manufacturing performance initiatives focused on improving throughput, yield, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
Partner with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize automated production systems and manufacturing workflows.
Utilize production data and operational observations to identify opportunities for process enhancement and operational improvements.
Provide technical guidance, training, and documentation to support continuous improvement and knowledge transfer across the facility.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience within a manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting automated production equipment through troubleshooting, reliability improvement, or process optimization activities.
Working knowledge of PLC-controlled systems, industrial automation, controls troubleshooting, and production technologies.
Demonstrated success utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, or Six Sigma.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally in a hands-on manufacturing setting.
