For our client, we are seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a healthcare environment.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $150,000 – $165,000 annually
Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to cloud infrastructure projects that enhance company objectives
Communicate cloud strategy and compliance status to leadership
Automate and orchestrate management of SaaS platforms and technical solutions
Architect platform services with tools like Terraform and Ansible
Serve as the primary cloud engineering lead for the company’s FedRAMP authorization initiative
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
Participate in incident management and contribute to strategic planning for platform capabilities
Qualifications
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience required
7+ years of experience in developing production-level applications or automated deployment pipelines using Infrastructure as Code in a public cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP) required
Deep expertise with AWS services (such as EC2, S3, and Lambda); meaningful hands-on experience with GCP is preferred
Expert-level experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (Ansible)
Strong knowledge of NIST 800-53 security controls and the FedRAMP authorization process, including SSP documentation and continuous monitoring
