Principal Architect

About the job OWT - a Swisscom company - is a strategy and technology consulting firm helping clients leverage new technologies to reshape their business. We partner with Anthropic, creator of Claude and Claude Code, and have launched Alpha Factory, Switzerland's first dedicated centre of excellence for responsible, human-centered AI adoption. We are strengthening our team of experts and looking for a passionate Principal Architect to drive transformation across leading Swiss organizations. Your mission: Architect and deliver scalable, secure, and business-aligned software solutions that integrate AI capabilities Design and implement cloud-native solutions, containerized architectures, and robust CI/CD pipelines Lead end-to-end architecture on complex projects, from pre-sales to production deployment, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction Define strategic architectural decisions (patterns, technologies, integrations) and produce associated technical documentation (ADRs, guidelines) Act as the technical interface between project teams and stakeholders, translating business needs into pragmatic technical solutions Actively participate in development (code reviews, POCs, AI pipeline design, critical components) while ensuring overall technical consistency Contribute to internal capability building: (mentoring, AI technology monitoring, best practice improvements across OWT) Your qualifications: A minimum of 10 years of experience in software architecture across large-scale projects, with the ability to bridge strategic vision and hands-on implementation Solid expertise in modern architectural patterns (microservices, event-driven, hexagonal, clean architecture) and design principles (SOLID, DDD) A genuine passion for AI and hands-on experience designing or integrating LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, and agentic systems Excellent background in either Java Spring Boot or .NET stacks Experience building scalable and resilient systems using cloud and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS) Demonstrated technical leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills across business and IT teams Solid understanding of application security (OWASP, authentication/authorization, encryption) Hands-on experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, observability, and monitoring of distributed systems Fluency in French and English (minimum C1 level); German is a plus What we offer: A dynamic and highly collaborative culture driven by a shared passion for technology and innovation, with a strong client focus A growth-oriented environment with a clear career path and fast progression opportunities A modern work model combining office presence, home office, and client-site collaboration A competitive salary and a healthy work-life balance The opportunity to work with prestigious clients on diverse and cutting-edge technology projects A team of experts always ready to share knowledge and provide constructive feedback A proven mentoring model to support your personal and professional development throughout your journey at OWT Conveniently located offices in Geneva, Lausanne, Zurich, and Bern Choose your home base: our Lausanne or Geneva offices Ready to make a real impact on how Switzerland adopts AI?
