About the job Role: Platform / Infrastructure Engineers Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week) Contract Duration: 6+months (potentially long term) Work Hours: PST Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri) Location: 100% Remote Overview We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to support a large-scale platform modernization initiative involving the migration of containerized services from a Hadoop-based environment to a Kubernetes-based cloud-native platform. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience deploying and maintaining Kubernetes environments, integrating monitoring and storage platforms, troubleshooting distributed systems, and supporting production platform migrations. Key Responsibilities Deploy, configure, and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure and services. Support migration of containerized applications into Kubernetes environments. Troubleshoot deployment, networking, and production issues during platform migrations. Integrate monitoring, logging, and storage solutions across the platform. Develop automation using Python and Bash scripting. Support cloud-native infrastructure modernization initiatives. Monitor platform health using Prometheus and related monitoring tools. Configure and maintain distributed storage solutions using Ceph. Collaborate with infrastructure, platform, and application teams to ensure reliable production deployments. Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous platform improvements. Required Qualifications Strong experience with Kubernetes administration and deployments. Hands-on experience migrating applications or services into Kubernetes environments. Strong Python programming or automation experience. Experience with Prometheus monitoring. Experience with Ceph distributed storage. Experience troubleshooting distributed systems. Strong Linux administration skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
