About the job Salesforce Platform Engineer (Data Migration) Location: Remote (Travel to Indianapolis, IN as needed) Structure: 12-Month Contract Pay: Flexible Based on Years of Experience About the Role: We are seeking a Salesforce Platform Engineer to support a large-scale Oracle Sales Cloud to Salesforce migration initiative. This individual will play a critical role in leading data migration efforts, ensuring the successful extraction, transformation, validation, and loading of customer and business data into Salesforce. Working closely with business stakeholders, Salesforce architects, integration teams, and migration resources, this individual will be responsible for data discovery, data mapping, data cleansing, migration planning, and validation activities. The ideal candidate combines strong Salesforce platform knowledge with hands-on experience executing enterprise CRM migration projects and ensuring data integrity throughout the migration lifecycle. This is a highly visible project with an anticipated one-year timeline focused on delivering a complete enterprise Salesforce solution with accurate, trusted, and usable data from day one. What You'll Do: Lead data migration activities for a large-scale Oracle Sales Cloud to Salesforce CRM implementation. Analyze existing Oracle Sales Cloud data structures and define migration strategies for Salesforce. Partner with business stakeholders to understand data requirements, business rules, and reporting needs. Create source-to-target mapping documents and support data transformation activities. Identify data quality issues and develop cleansing, standardization, and deduplication strategies. Collaborate with technical teams to extract, transform, and load data into Salesforce. Validate migrated data through reconciliation, testing, and business-user signoff processes. Support data governance initiatives and establish best practices around data management within Salesforce. Work alongside integration teams to ensure data consistency across connected systems. Develop reports and dashboards that support migration validation and ongoing business operations. Troubleshoot migration-related issues and recommend solutions to improve data accuracy and completeness. Document migration processes, business rules, mapping logic, and technical solutions. What You Bring: Salesforce platform experience. Experience supporting enterprise CRM migration or data conversion projects. Strong understanding of Salesforce data architecture, object relationships, and security models. Experience with data migration, data mapping, data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation activities. Hands-on experience working with: Salesforce Data Loader Data Import Wizard Salesforce Flows Custom Objects & Fields Reports & Dashboards Data Quality & Governance Practices Experience translating complex business requirements into migration and data solutions. Strong SQL and data analysis skills. Experience working with large data sets and complex CRM environments. Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications: Prior Oracle Sales Cloud to Salesforce migration experience. Experience leading large-scale CRM data migration initiatives. Experience with ETL and migration tools such as Informatica, MuleSoft, Talend, Jitterbit, or similar. Salesforce Administrator Certification. Salesforce Platform App Builder Certification. Experience with Salesforce data modeling and architecture. Experience supporting enterprise transformation programs. Familiarity with financial services or highly regulated environments.
