Accountabilities: The PeopleSoft Middleware Engineer will design, develop, and support enterprise integration solutions connecting PeopleSoft applications with internal systems, cloud platforms, and third-party applications. This role requires ownership of integration architecture, technical implementation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of middleware capabilities. Design and develop integration solutions using PeopleSoft Integration Broker, including service operations, queues, routings, and handlers. Build and maintain synchronous and asynchronous integrations using REST and SOAP web services. Develop transformations using XSLT, Application Engine, and PeopleCode while following strong engineering practices. Configure and maintain integration security standards, including WS-Security, OAuth2, and certificate-based authentication. Implement error handling, monitoring, retry processes, and notification workflows to ensure reliable integrations. Develop Component Interfaces and File Layouts for hybrid integration scenarios. Support modernization initiatives by migrating legacy integrations toward standardized middleware patterns. Optimize integration performance through queue tuning, parallel processing, and scalable asynchronous designs. Integrate PeopleSoft environments with cloud applications and middleware platforms such as Oracle Cloud, Workday, ServiceNow, OIC, MuleSoft, and Boomi. Maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design records, configuration guides, and operational procedures. Provide production support, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and post-go-live assistance. Partner with functional consultants, architects, and engineering teams to deliver effective integration solutions. Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through technical guidance, reviews, and knowledge sharing. Stay current with PeopleSoft technologies, API standards, and enterprise integration trends. Requirements: The ideal candidate has extensive PeopleSoft integration experience, strong middleware knowledge, and the ability to design secure and scalable enterprise solutions. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. 5+ years of PeopleSoft development experience with a strong focus on Integration Broker. Hands-on experience designing and developing REST and SOAP web services within PeopleSoft environments. Strong knowledge of PeopleCode, Application Engine, and PeopleSoft development tools. Experience working with XML, XSLT, JSON, and enterprise data transformation concepts. Understanding of web service security standards, including WS-Security and OAuth2. Strong SQL skills and familiarity with the PeopleSoft data model. Experience troubleshooting complex integration issues and supporting production environments. Familiarity with middleware platforms such as Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), MuleSoft, or Boomi is preferred. Experience supporting PeopleSoft upgrades, patches, and technical enhancements. Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams. PeopleSoft certifications, cloud application integration experience, event-driven architecture knowledge, and CI/CD familiarity are considered advantages.
