Network Systems Engineer

About the job We are seeking a highly skilled Network Systems Engineer to design, implement, and optimize our SaaS platform’s network and systems infrastructure. As a key member of the technology team, you will ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our platform, leveraging modern technologies including AWS, microservices, and autoscaling. Your work will directly support our mission to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions to our customers. Primary Duties: · Network Design & Optimization o Design, deploy, and maintain highly available and scalable network architectures to support our SaaS platform. o Optimize the performance and reliability of network systems, ensuring minimal latency and maximum throughput for critical services. o Implement and manage software-defined networking (SDN) solutions and VPNs for secure data transmission. · Cloud Infrastructure Management o Build and maintain cloud-based systems in AWS, utilizing services such as VPCs, Load Balancers, Transit Gateways, and Direct Connect. o Manage autoscaling groups and microservices communication to ensure smooth and cost-efficient operations. o Collaborate with engineering teams to implement containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker. · Security & Compliance o Develop and enforce network security policies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and zero-trust architectures. o Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001) and customer requirements, with a focus on data protection and privacy. o Regularly assess and mitigate security risks across the network infrastructure. · Monitoring & Incident Management o Implement robust monitoring and alerting tools to ensure proactive identification and resolution of performance or security issues. o Lead incident response efforts for network-related outages or security breaches, ensuring timely and effective resolution. o Document and refine disaster recovery plans and procedures to minimize downtime and data loss. · Collaboration & Innovation o Partner with software engineering and DevOps teams to align network and system infrastructure with platform requirements. o Research and adopt cutting-edge technologies to improve network efficiency, scalability, and maintainability. o Provide technical expertise and support during platform development and upgrades. Essential Qualifications: · Proficiency in managing and optimizing cloud-native networking solutions within AWS, including Route 53, ALB/ELB, and CloudFront. · Strong experience in TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, and network performance tuning. · Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. · Knowledge of container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and service mesh frameworks (e.g., Istio). · Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, microservices architectures, and autoscaling practices. · Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on automation and operational efficiency.
