Linux Systems & DevOps Engineer
📍 Zurich Region, Switzerland (Hybrid) 📅 Fixed-term Employed position (initially until March 2029 with likelihood of extension)
We are currently partnering with a research and technology organisation to recruit a Linux Systems & DevOps Engineer.
This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative infrastructure team responsible for supporting advanced Linux-based computing platforms used by internationally recognised research programmes. You will work with modern technologies, large-scale compute clusters and automation tools while helping shape the future of a critical technical environment.
💻 The Role
You'll become part of an experienced infrastructure team responsible for the operation, improvement and future development of Linux-based computing platforms.
Your responsibilities will include:
🔹 Managing enterprise Linux infrastructure
🔹 Supporting large-scale compute clusters
🔹 Automating system administration and deployments
🔹 Troubleshooting complex production environments
🔹 Working closely with engineers, researchers and technical users
🔹 Contributing to future infrastructure improvements and capacity planning

✔ Strong Linux Systems Administration experience
✔ Experience managing production Linux environments
✔ Experience supporting clustered infrastructure
✔ Automation experience (Ansible, Puppet or similar)
✔ Bash and/or Python scripting
✔ Git
✔ Strong troubleshooting skills
✔ Excellent communication and teamwork
