Linguistic Specialist

Accountabilities: The Linguistic Specialist will support language data projects by analyzing, annotating, and improving spoken and written content. The role requires strong linguistic knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high-quality standards when working with language datasets. Transcribe speech recordings and spoken content into accurate written text. Annotate, summarize, and evaluate spoken language data according to project guidelines. Identify and correct grammar, syntax, and language structure issues. Analyze sentence patterns, word order, and linguistic characteristics. Apply knowledge of phonetics and phonology to support speech analysis activities. Perform proofreading, content validation, and quality assurance checks. Review and improve language datasets used to enhance speech and AI language models. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across assigned linguistic tasks. Follow project instructions and maintain high standards of data accuracy. Requirements: The ideal candidate has a strong background in linguistics, language analysis, or content-related fields, with excellent attention to detail and a passion for language technology. This role requires strong language skills and the ability to work independently on structured data projects. Strong command of Punjabi language and linguistic concepts. Degree, postgraduate qualification, or certification in Linguistics, Punjabi Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, or a related field. Experience in copywriting, proofreading, content creation, translation, transcription, or report writing is preferred. Strong understanding of English grammar and language structure. Good listening and comprehension skills with the ability to analyze spoken content. Knowledge of phonetics, phonology, syntax, and linguistic analysis methods. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify language inconsistencies. Ability to work independently and follow detailed project requirements. Familiarity with speech, audio, or language data projects is an advantage.
