About the job
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead GCP DevOps Engineer to join our team.
This role is ideal for an experienced professional who can drive best practices, optimize cloud-based environments, and provide leadership in DevOps processes, primarily focusing on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Kindly note that this role supports remote work, but only from within Ukraine.
Responsibilities
Architect and implement best practices for hybrid cloud and on-premises environments, with a strong emphasis on cloud
Define and enforce organizational policies to ensure compliance and efficiency
Leverage modern technologies and methodologies such as GitOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
Deploy and manage resources like VPC, IAM policies, GKE, KMS, VM, and DNS on GCP
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and implement FinOps strategies
Lead VM-to-container migration initiatives to modernize the infrastructure
Provide high-quality documentation and ensure effective knowledge sharing with the team
Requirements
Minimum 4 years of experience in DevOps engineering roles, with a focus on cloud-based environments
Expertise in GCP services like VPC, IAM, GKE, and associated components
Proficiency in using GitOps and Infrastructure-as-Code tools to automate processes
Knowledge of cost management practices such as FinOps
Skills in designing and scaling cloud and hybrid environments effectively
Experience in transitioning workloads from VMs to containers
Excellent communication and documentation skills
English proficiency at B2 level or higher
