Kafka Engineer with IRS MBI Clearance

Accountabilities Design, deploy, administer, and maintain Apache Kafka environments to support reliable messaging and event streaming solutions. Create, configure, and manage Kafka topics, producers, consumers, connectors, and related platform components. Monitor Kafka clusters, identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot production issues, and implement timely resolutions. Perform system upgrades, configuration changes, capacity planning, and performance tuning to ensure platform stability and scalability. Collaborate with software developers, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support application integration and event-driven architectures. Implement operational best practices for Kafka administration, monitoring, logging, and system reliability. Ensure all platform activities comply with security requirements, operational procedures, and change management processes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance platform performance, resilience, and operational efficiency. Requirements 5+ years of professional experience working with Apache Kafka in production environments. Strong expertise in Kafka administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Experience designing and supporting distributed messaging and event streaming platforms. Proficiency with Linux system administration and experience using Java and/or Python. Hands-on experience with infrastructure monitoring, logging, and observability tools. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex production issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional technical teams. Active IRS MBI Clearance is required.
