This is a highly technical and hands-on position requiring the selected candidate to both lead and participate in multiple initiatives within Lumen, focusing on deploying, managing, and optimizing advanced network solutions that support AI‑driven applications and services. The role demands innovative thinking, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver scalable and secure connectivity solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a strong technical background with a degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Proven experience in network architecture, cloud computing, and AI‑related infrastructure is essential. Candidates must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE, CCNA, or equivalent, along with experience in managing large-scale network deployments, are highly preferred. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, data center operations, and virtualization technologies is also necessary. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize advanced network solutions that support AI‑driven workloads, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
Lead technical projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative connectivity solutions aligned with business objectives.
Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective solutions.
Develop and maintain documentation related to network architecture, configurations, and procedures to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously enhance network capabilities and security posture.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs, translating requirements into effective technical solutions.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and implement security measures to safeguard critical infrastructure against threats.
