About The Role We are seeking experienced IT Systems Engineers to join our engineering team supporting Leidos' diverse projects. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of systems engineering principles, with prior experience in integrating and accepting software products from various suppliers. This role involves working closely with clients and suppliers to execute systems engineering activities throughout the full lifecycle, with particular emphasis on detailed system design. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring seamless integration of hardware, software, and network components, contributing to the development and maintenance of robust system architectures. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects within a collaborative environment that values innovation, integrity, and excellence. The role is primarily remote, with periodic visits to the Farnborough office and customer locations, providing flexibility and diverse work experiences. Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates should demonstrate a minimum of three years of experience in systems engineering within IT or software systems. A solid understanding of systems engineering frameworks such as ICOSE, NAF, DODAF, MODAF, or MBSE is essential. Candidates should possess a good working knowledge of hardware and software used in IT systems technologies and have experience working within both Agile and Waterfall delivery models. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. A bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or a related field is preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered. Familiarity with system modeling tools such as SysML, UML, Cameo, or Archimate is advantageous. Candidates must also be eligible to obtain security clearances, including NPPV2, with the potential to gain MOD DV clearance being a plus. Responsibilities Maintain and update the Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM) to ensure consistency and completeness of system requirements. Update system design artifacts and documentation to align with the RVTM, ensuring traceability across all engineering outputs. Collaborate with testing teams to review requirements against test cases and acceptance criteria, identify gaps, and propose solutions to mitigate risks. Define and agree upon acceptance criteria with stakeholders, ensuring all requirements are testable and verifiable. Support the design and definition of system interfaces, ensuring compatibility and seamless integration. Implement version control for all systems engineering artifacts and interface documents to maintain integrity and traceability. Document and manage activities related to the V-Model, liaising with delivery teams to ensure compliance and completeness of artifacts. Work with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate hardware, software, and network integration efforts effectively. Create and maintain data flow diagrams and data matrix views to provide clear system understanding. Contribute to the Systems Concept of Operations document by defining and documenting processes. Track project progress, dependencies, and deliverables, providing regular updates to stakeholders. Review and update the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) as needed to reflect project changes.
