About The Role We are seeking two experienced Systems Engineers to join our engineering capability within Leidos. The successful candidates will possess a comprehensive understanding of systems engineering principles and have prior experience in integrating software products from suppliers. In this role, you will work closely with customers and suppliers throughout the entire system lifecycle, with a particular focus on low-level system design. Your responsibilities will include managing requirements verification, updating technical artefacts, defining interfaces, and ensuring seamless integration of hardware, software, and network components. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex projects that require technical excellence, strategic thinking, and collaborative problem-solving. The role can be performed remotely with occasional visits to our Farnborough office and customer sites, providing flexibility and a dynamic work environment. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have at least three years of proven experience in a Systems Engineering role within IT or software systems. A solid understanding of systems engineering frameworks such as ICOSE, NAF, DODAF, MODAF, or MBSE is essential. Candidates should possess a good working knowledge of hardware and software used in IT systems and have experience working within both Agile and Waterfall delivery models. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are required, along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. A bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or a related field is preferred, although equivalent experience will also be considered. Familiarity with system modeling tools like SysML, UML, Cameo, or Archimate is advantageous. Responsibilities Maintain and manage the Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM) to ensure traceability across all system requirements and design artefacts. Update and ensure consistency of design documents and artefacts to align with RVTM, supporting the integrity of system specifications. Collaborate with testing teams to review requirements against test cases and acceptance criteria, identify gaps, and propose solutions to mitigate risks and issues. Define, document, and obtain stakeholder approval for acceptance criteria to ensure clear and measurable objectives. Support the definition and design of system interfaces, ensuring compatibility and seamless integration between components. Implement version control practices for all relevant systems engineering artefacts and interfaces to maintain configuration integrity. Document and manage programme V-Model activities and artefacts, liaising with delivery team leads to ensure adherence to project standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate the integration of hardware, software, and network elements, ensuring system cohesion. Document data flows and develop data matrix views to illustrate system data interactions and architecture. Contribute to the development of the Systems Concept of Operations document through process definition and detailed documentation. Track, monitor, and report on the progress of deliverables and dependencies, ensuring project milestones are met. Review and update the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) as needed to reflect project changes and improvements. Document engineering management and governance processes to ensure compliance with organizational standards and best practices.
