About the job Location: Remote (U.S. Only) This position is open to U.S. Citizens only. No visa sponsorship is available (H-1B, OPT, CPT, TN, or any other visa types). No C2C, third-party agencies. Position Summary We seek a meticulous and steadfast Infrastructure Engineer to join our team, focusing on the security, stability, and compliance of our large-scale compute clusters. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day patching of our Linux servers, databases, and complex software stacks. A critical component of this position is maintaining exceptionally detailed records and working directly with auditing bodies to provide evidence for SOC, federal, and other compliance audits. Your work ensures that our infrastructure remains secure, reliable, and fully compliant. You must be a U.S. Citizen and be prepared to provide dedicated support during critical launch phases. Key Responsibilities Execute day-to-day patching and updates across a diverse environment of Linux servers, databases, internal software, open-source software, and other AI-related infrastructure. Maintain highly detailed, accurate records of all patching activities, schedules, and approvals to satisfy strict compliance requirements. Actively assist and collaborate with internal and external auditing teams, providing required evidence for SOC audits, federal audits, and other regulatory assessments. Perform pre-patch testing in staging environments to identify potential conflicts or regressions before production deployment. Adhere strictly to formal change management processes for all system modifications, ensuring proper documentation and approval. Develop, test, and maintain scripts (e.g., Python, Bash, etc.) to automate repetitive patching tasks, improve operational efficiency, and generate compliance reports. Perform routine system health checks and verify the successful application of patches post-deployment. Work closely with the wider engineering team to coordinate maintenance windows and minimize disruption to active compute clusters. Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen. 3+ years of professional experience in Linux systems administration, patch management, and infrastructure operations. Significant experience participating in and providing evidence for SOC audits. Experience with federal audits is highly advantageous. Exceptional commitment to detail, precise record-keeping, and process adherence. Strong practical knowledge of Linux administration and command-line interfaces. Experience patching and updating database systems (both relational and non-relational). Familiarity with updating and maintaining AI inference tools and complex distributed software stacks. Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automating administrative tasks. Familiarity with formal change management and incident management frameworks. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external auditors.
