With our momentum—backed by a $17.3 billion valuation and $1 B in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in just over five years—you'll drive meaningful impact while building expertise that makes you a sought-after leader in the transformation of global work. About The Role We're looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infra Engineering team at Deel. This is an individual contributor role on a team of five to six, and we build and run the internal platform services that hundreds of Deel engineers depend on directly: feature flagging, file storage, database migrations, and the data-integrity tooling among others. You've shipped production services before and you're ready to own a platform component end to end, not just pick up tickets. You'll work alongside more senior engineers on high-visibility projects, with real room to grow into bigger scope. How We Build At Deel As a hyper-growth company, new initiatives and shifting priorities are the norm here. This isn't maintenance-mode engineering. We identify the biggest bottleneck, build a robust solution, ship it, and move on to the next one. If you want your work to have visible, wide-scale impact instead of sitting in a backlog, you'll feel at home. The challenges ahead Feature flagging at company scale: Help build and harden the internal feature-flag platform every Deel engineering team uses to ship safely. Beyond the core platform, you'll work on rollout strategies, advanced targeting (percentage, canary), analytics, a debugger, disaster recovery, rate limiting, and the engineering guides that help other teams adopt it well. File management, continuously improving: Keep leveling up the centralized file service every Deel team relies on: a file management UI, file extension management, observability and disaster recovery. Database migrations at scale: Help build and operate the tooling that decouples SQL migration execution from code deployment across every environment, so a bad migration doesn't block a deployment or take down a service. Multiple database engines: Support services as they integrate with database engines beyond Postgres, including Oracle, and help teams reason about connection security, schema migration tooling, and data replication across engines. Data integrity at scale: Support and extend our Sanity engine, hundreds of automated checks and auto-fix bots that catch data problems across 100+ services before they become incidents. Platform stability: Keep shared internal services (mail, PDF generation, file handling) stable and reliable for every team that calls them, and jump in on the incidents that come with running platform-level infrastructure. Cutting through the noise: Turn recurring support requests into self-service tooling or documentation. High support-ticket volume is a signal to automate, not just a queue to clear. Cross-team execution: Work with backend teams across the company as they migrate onto your platform services. These are only a glimpse of the challenges ahead. What We're Looking For Solid production experience in Node.js and TypeScript, with the ability to write and review production-grade backend code. Solid understanding and designing of distributed systems. Comfort operating services in Kubernetes, even if you're not the one designing the cluster. Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, including migrations, connection handling, and how ORMs like Sequelize/Drizzle/Prisma behave at scale. The ability to take a defined project and drive it to completion, escalating when you're blocked rather than staying stuck. Clear written and verbal communication. You'll work directly with other engineering teams who depend on what you build. Nice to have Exposure to Oracle databases. Experience with feature-flagging systems (LaunchDarkly, OpenFeature, flagD, or a homegrown equivalent). Familiarity with file storage systems (S3-compatible storage, upload/download pipelines). Exposure to observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, Coralogix, Datadog, or similar). Exposure to message brokers (NATS, Kafka, or similar) and event-driven patterns What Makes You Stand Out You're past the "tell me exactly what to do" stage but not yet setting technical direction for others, and that's exactly where we want you. We don't have a Product Manager on this team, so scope and requirements are things engineers help shape, not just execute. You're comfortable sitting with an underspecified problem long enough to ask the right questions instead of waiting to be told. The team We own the internal platform services other engineering teams build on top of: feature flags, file storage, database migrations, and data integrity tooling. If it's a service every backend team calls into, there's a good chance we built it. With no Product Manager on the team, engineers here are expected to help define what we build, not just how. Total Rewards Our workforce deserves fair and competitive pay that meets them where they are. With scalable benefits, rewards, and perks, our total rewards programs reflect our commitment to inclusivity and access for all. Our salary range reflects gross base salary. Final pay is based on objective, job-related criteria including experience, skills, and location. We don't ask about salary history. Offers are based on the role and what you bring to it. Some things you'll enjoy Stock grant opportunities dependent on your role, employment status and location Additional perks and benefits based on your employment status and country The flexibility of remote work, including optional WeWork access At Deel, we're an equal-opportunity employer that values diversity and positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of race, religion, sex, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, pregnancy or maternity or other applicable legally protected characteristics.
