About the job About Cerebria Cerebria is at the forefront of AI-driven healthcare innovation, developing advanced machine learning solutions that enhance patient safety and improve cardiovascular diagnostics. Our core technology focuses on real-time coronary physiology, supporting interventional cardiologists with intelligent insights during procedures. In parallel, we are building cutting-edge education tools that leverage generative AI to deliver personalized, scalable learning experiences for healthcare professionals and patients. Founded by practicing cardiologists, we're a small but growing startup backed by deep expertise in medical devices, regulatory compliance, and systems integration. From AI model development to seamless deployment in clinical and educational environments, we deliver end-to-end innovation. With headquarters in London, engineering operations in California, and a new engineering team being established in South Africa, our global team is united by a mission to make cardiovascular care and education smarter, safer, and more effective through intelligent technologies. The role We're looking for a Front-End Engineer to help us build our AI-powered medical education platform, turning medical and clinical content into interactive, engaging learning experiences. We already have a front-end engineer on the team, and you'll work as a full part of the wider engineering team, collaborating day to day mainly with our backend and clinical colleagues. Your work will have real visibility and impact from day one. This is a hands-on build role focused primarily on implementation. Most of your time will be writing well-crafted React and Next.js, and you'll work from designs in Figma to help shape how features look and feel. This position is based in South Africa. Some international travel may be required for team meetings or project collaboration. What you'll do ● Build responsive, accessible user interfaces in React and Next.js for our education platform. ● Turn medical and clinical content into clear, engaging, interactive learning experiences. ● Work from designs in Figma and help shape how features look and behave. ● Integrate front end features with our backend APIs, handling real data cleanly and reliably. ● Care about the details: performance, accessibility, responsive behaviour and visual polish. ● Work closely with product, backend and clinical colleagues to ship features that work well for real users. What we're looking for The bar is demonstrable skill and a real track record of shipping front end work in production. We're looking for engineers who write clean, maintainable code and can show what they've built. Essential ● Solid production experience building user interfaces with React. ● Comfortable with modern JavaScript and TypeScript. ● Experience with Next.js, or strong React skills and the ability to pick it up quickly. ● A good eye for detail, and comfort navigating Figma to work from existing designs. ● Understanding of responsive design and accessibility. ● Experience integrating front ends with backend APIs. ● A good team member who can also take a project and run with it, and who communicates clearly with non-technical colleagues. Nice to have ● Experience with design systems or component libraries. ● An interest in UI/UX design and creating as well as implementing designs. ● Experience using Figma to create designs, not just work from them. ● Background in EdTech, healthcare, or other content-rich platforms. ● Experience with data visualisation or interactive, media-rich interfaces. ● Familiarity with front end performance optimisation and build tooling. Why join Cerebria? ● Remote-first culture with global impact. ● Cutting-edge technology in a meaningful mission. ● Healthcare innovation that directly improves patient outcomes. ● A collaborative environment with medical device experts.
