As a DevOps Engineer, you play a crucial role in the automation of infrastructure and networks using the latest technology. The assignment In this role, you will work alongside a team of talented infrastructure platform engineers and architects. Together, you will build, maintain, and improve a cloud-based environment that delivers fully automated infrastructure services to both internal teams and beyond. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams — including the IT service delivery organisation, data analytics, and integration teams — to build and maintain a cohesive and secure IT ecosystem. Together with your colleagues, you will drive innovation, digitalisation, and optimisation of the IT landscape. Core responsibilities Platform engineering: designing, deploying, and managing robust infrastructure solutions, primarily on AWS and Nutanix, with a focus on high availability, scalability, and security Automation & scripting: developing and implementing REST APIs, automation workflows, and configuration management scripts to streamline infrastructure deployment and management Infrastructure optimisation: modernising legacy systems for optimal cloud performance, maximising resource efficiency, and ensuring cost-effective operations Collaboration: working closely with other agile, cross-functional teams — including the IT service delivery organisation, data analytics, and integration teams — to build and maintain a cohesive and secure IT ecosystem Documentation & best practices: documenting configurations, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance within the infrastructure Your profile At least 5 years of experience as a Platform Engineer, Infrastructure Automation Specialist, or DevOps Engineer, with extensive experience in scripting and/or programming languages for IT infrastructure automation (including Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, Rundeck) At least a bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field Experience with Infrastructure as Code (including Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) Knowledge of and experience with (hybrid) cloud services (including AWS EC2, RDS, ECS, ELB, Lambda, and Nutanix) Experience with containerisation technologies is a strong plus (including Docker, Kubernetes) Familiarity with Git and managing CI/CD pipelines Experience with Linux system administration is a strong plus A proactive attitude towards exploring new technologies and implementing forward-thinking solutions Assignment details Interim/freelance basis 6 to 12 months Rate to be discussed Hybrid in NL (3 days per week on-site) - Or fully remote CEST time zone
