Embedded Software Engineer, Tech Lead

Accountabilities: Lead the development and enhancement of embedded firmware for advanced connectivity and networking products, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability. Design and implement embedded C/C++ solutions, including state machines, control loops, calibration routines, diagnostics, and hardware interfaces. Drive low-level hardware bring-up activities and collaborate closely with engineering teams to debug and optimize system performance. Contribute to firmware features related to Ethernet connectivity, SERDES configuration, signal management, and real-time device behavior. Develop Python-based automation tools to streamline testing, data collection, analysis, and validation workflows. Collaborate with validation teams to define and execute comprehensive test plans across multiple operating conditions and use cases. Support the development of continuous integration infrastructure and automated testing frameworks. Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making processes to maintain high engineering standards. Track project progress, identify risks, and communicate blockers effectively within cross-functional teams. Work closely with firmware, hardware, silicon, and application engineers to ensure successful product delivery from development to production. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Professional experience in embedded software or firmware development, including significant hands-on experience with embedded C/C++ on real hardware platforms. Strong understanding of hardware-software interactions, including reading datasheets, register-level programming, and hardware debugging. Experience with Linux development environments and tools such as GCC, Clang, Make, Bash, GDB, and Git. Proficiency in Python scripting for automation, testing, data analysis, or tooling development. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within small, cross-functional engineering teams. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and work effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments. Experience with Ethernet technologies, networking devices, PHYs, SERDES, retimers, or related connectivity solutions is highly desirable. Knowledge of analog or mixed-signal systems, including calibration techniques and signal conditioning concepts, is considered an asset. Familiarity with signal integrity concepts such as equalization, jitter analysis, eye diagrams, and link margin evaluation. Experience with RTOS environments, device drivers, bare-metal firmware, or semiconductor product development is advantageous. Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, BERTs, or similar debugging tools is preferred. Previous experience with issue tracking and project management tools such as Jira is beneficial.
