About the job Job description: Job Summary As a Cloud DevOps Engineer specializing in OpenShift and Kubernetes, you will be at the forefront of cloud technology, playing a pivotal role in the design, deployment, and operational excellence of container platforms for our global customers. This position is critical for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of cloud-native environments, directly supporting HCLTech’s mission to provide unmatched IT solutions and services. Key Responsibilities Maintain end-to-end responsibility for the OpenShift landscape across customer environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Design, install, configure, and maintain OpenShift Container Platform and associated development services based on business requirements. Develop and manage operational tasks within a global DevOps/SRE team, with a strong focus on automation, maintainability, and security. Utilize CI/CD frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) to support rapid and effective platform lifecycle management. Act as Level 2/3 support for incidents, problems, and service requests, collaborating with internal teams and third-party vendors to resolve issues and implement changes. Proactively drive automation and implement self-healing solutions to reduce manual effort and operational toil. Analyze and mitigate reliability risks, reducing error budgets and addressing operational challenges. Create and maintain comprehensive design and user documentation for internal use. Support and adhere to IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and ITIL operational best practices. Participate in Agile teams, contributing as a DevOps engineer or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to deliver high-quality solutions. Engage in standby/on-call rotations as needed to ensure platform stability. Skill Requirements At least 2 years of working experience in a similar position Azure Associate certification or equivalent knowledge level. OpenShift or K8’s certification. Working experience with HELM or Kustomize Previous working experience with one of the following Ansible, GoLang or Terraform. Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and toolset (i.e. Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Must be adaptable to work in a varied, fast paced exciting, ever changing environment. Good analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues. Eager to learn and adapt to a constant changing environment. Understanding of Agile development, SCRUM or SRE concepts Willing to run standby duty. Able to function autonomously and adding to a collaborative team-spirit
