About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure System and Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This role offers the flexibility of remote work, with a preference for candidates operating within the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal system performance, security, and reliability. You will play a critical role in configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network and server components to support daily business operations. Collaboration with the Cloud Operations team will be essential to ensure seamless integration between on-premises and cloud environments, aligning with organizational security and compliance standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure and network management
At least 4 years of hands-on experience in system and network administration
Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and software
Experience with Windows and Linux server administration
Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls
Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server are a plus
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
Monitor network performance and security, addressing issues proactively to maintain optimal operation
Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, bandwidth, and performance problems across the network
Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring high availability and performance
Install, configure, and update servers and associated software, applying patches and service packs regularly
Supervise backups and execute recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity
Participate in security assessments and vulnerability management initiatives, collaborating with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities promptly
Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and procedures
Work closely with the Cloud Operations team to support integration, security, and architecture of cloud and on-premises environments
Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform to ensure scalable and automated infrastructure deployment
Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency
Implement and maintain automated monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions for proactive issue detection
Support DevOps initiatives by developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and enforcing best practices across teams
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and deployment bottlenecks
Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve deployment processes and infrastructure reliability
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud and DevOps environments
Perform other duties as assigned, potentially focusing on specific departments or locations as needed
