About The Role
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with expertise in AWS and GitHub to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the infrastructure that supports our AI-assisted application prototypes as they transition into enterprise-grade environments. You will own the development and operation of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, build and maintain AWS infrastructure leveraging services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, and S3, and implement observability and governance frameworks to ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective deployment processes. The position involves working closely with development teams to facilitate the migration of prototypes into scalable, production-ready environments, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and security compliance. This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices—including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Carmel, or San Francisco—or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud infrastructure management, automation, and security practices, with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Strong proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) lifecycle management
Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
Working knowledge of AWS IAM, least-privilege access principles, and OIDC federation between GitHub and AWS
Experience supporting SLAs, incident response, and on-call operations
Excellent understanding of AWS services such as ECS/Fargate, EKS, Lambda, RDS, and S3 (preferred)
Knowledge of AWS cost governance practices and FinOps (preferred)
Experience with productionizing AI-assisted or low-code applications (preferred)

Responsibilities
Build and maintain AWS reference architectures utilizing ECS, Fargate, EKS, Lambda, RDS, and S3

Manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, including remote state management, module versioning, and drift detection
Establish and enforce security and deployment controls, peer review processes, and environment promotion standards
Define and implement "lift patterns" to facilitate application migration from prototypes to production environments
Provision and manage AWS infrastructure components, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities
Operate observability tools for metrics, logs, traces, and alerting, leveraging AWS native and integrated solutions
Implement cost governance strategies, including tagging, cost monitoring, and budgeting using AWS tools
Collaborate with Information Security to integrate security controls such as image scanning, secrets management, and IAM policies into pipelines
Support onboarding and provide technical guidance to developers preparing for production deployment
Maintain runbooks, incident response playbooks, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and quick incident resolution
