About The Role
Hologic is seeking a highly skilled Lead Cloud DevOps Platform Engineer to join our team in Marlborough, MA, Santa Clara, CA, or remotely. This pivotal role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining our Internal Developer Platform (IDP) to streamline and optimize the development and deployment of medical device software. As a Lead Cloud DevOps Platform Engineer, you will serve as a bridge between cloud strategy and developer operations, ensuring the platform supports high-velocity, secure, and compliant software delivery. You will lead architectural design, develop automation tools, and mentor engineering teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency, security, and regulatory compliance of our cloud-based development environments, supporting Hologic’s mission to advance women’s health through innovative technology solutions.
Qualifications
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.
6+ years of experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred), GCP, or AWS, with a focus on IAM, VPC networking, and managed services like EKS, RDS, and Lambda.
Deep expertise in Kubernetes, including designing, troubleshooting, and securing clusters.
Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins, and configuration management tools like Ansible and Terraform.
Hands-on experience with security architectures, including Zero Trust principles, secrets management (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager), and automated compliance checks.
Strong software engineering skills across languages such as C#, C++, Python, and Java.
Experience in troubleshooting distributed cloud-native applications with complex data workflows in regulated environments.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences, including executive leadership and technical teams.
Relevant certifications such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, CISSP, or CCSP are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
Design and promote a self-service platform that enables developers to provision compliant infrastructure via code or a developer portal.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to DevOps engineers, fostering professional growth and team success.
Architect resilient, multi-region cloud solutions that adhere to HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 13485 standards.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules with security and logging baked-in by default.
Conduct regular friction audits to identify and eliminate obstacles in the developer pipeline, automating solutions to improve efficiency.
Collaborate with security teams to embed automated compliance checks and generate immutable audit trails for regulatory submissions.
Lead FinOps initiatives to optimize cloud spending while ensuring high availability and low latency for clinical applications.
Partner with IT, Security, and Development teams to create shared solutions and maintain comprehensive documentation of processes and tools.
Stay current with industry best practices, evaluate emerging technologies, and drive continuous improvement within the DevOps environment.
