About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps System Engineer to join Lockheed Martin's dynamic team supporting satellite communication systems. This customer-facing role involves leading complex system integration, testing, and deployment activities essential for mission-critical operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining DevOps pipelines for applications developed in C++ or Python, ensuring seamless collaboration across cross-functional teams. You will oversee the integration of hardware, software, and network components, develop automation scripts for deployment and testing, and troubleshoot issues to maintain system stability and performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge satellite communication technology, contributing to national security and space exploration initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited institution, complemented by at least six years of professional experience or four years with a relevant master's degree. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in system engineering capabilities as outlined in the GG Statement of Work (SOW) Appendix B for the USG standard SE labor category level 3. A strong background in DevOps practices, automation tools, and large-scale system support is essential. Additionally, candidates should hold a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work involved.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust DevOps pipelines utilizing tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform, and Ansible to automate server provisioning, configuration, and deployment workflows.
Lead system integration efforts by developing strategies for combining hardware, software, and network components into cohesive, operational systems.
Plan, coordinate, and execute comprehensive integration and testing activities, including system-level performance evaluations and validation against technical requirements.
Identify, debug, and resolve software defects efficiently using effective troubleshooting techniques, ensuring minimal system downtime.
Develop and implement automated testing scripts to streamline validation processes, enhancing system reliability and deployment speed.
Collaborate closely with system architects, project managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure software solutions meet user needs and are delivered on schedule.
Maintain detailed documentation of pipelines, processes, and system interfaces to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, security, and scalability.
