About The Role
This position is for a GG DevOps System Engineer at Lockheed Martin, collaborating with Hackajob to connect with talented professionals. The role is customer-facing and involves leading the integration, testing, and deployment of mission-critical satellite communication systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless operation and performance of these systems, working closely with cross-functional teams including system architects, project managers, and software developers. The engineer will design, implement, and maintain DevOps pipelines, support system integration activities, and troubleshoot software and hardware issues. Emphasizing automation, the role involves developing scripts for automated testing and deployment, utilizing tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD. The position also requires maintaining comprehensive documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and ongoing support. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to national security missions, working with advanced RF and optical capabilities, and supporting modernization and operations activities.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from an accredited institution, coupled with at least six years of professional experience, or four years with a related master’s degree. Candidates must meet all capabilities outlined in the GG Statement of Work (SOW) Appendix B for the USG standard Systems Engineer labor category level 3. Security clearance at TS/SCI with Polygraph is required. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of DevOps practices, system integration, and testing methodologies, with experience supporting large-scale server and network environments. Technical proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, and automation tools like Terraform and Ansible is highly desirable. Knowledge of Linux system programming, RF signals analysis, or satellite communication system design will be advantageous. Soft skills such as analytical thinking, problem-solving, effective communication, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain DevOps pipelines for applications written in C++ or Python, ensuring efficient and reliable deployment processes.
Lead system integration efforts, combining hardware, software, and network components into a cohesive operational system.
Plan and execute comprehensive testing strategies, including system-level tests, performance evaluations, and validation against technical requirements.
Identify, debug, and resolve software defects using effective troubleshooting techniques to maintain system integrity and performance.
Develop automated testing and deployment scripts utilizing tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and other automation frameworks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system architects and project managers, to ensure software meets user requirements and project deadlines.
Maintain detailed documentation of pipelines, processes, and system interfaces to support ongoing operations and knowledge transfer.
Support system modernization efforts, RF and optical capability development, and operational activities through continuous process improvements.
