About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our esteemed defense client. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for deploying applications and software across cloud or on-premises environments, supporting various business units within the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cloud technologies, automation, and infrastructure management, with a focus on enhancing deployment efficiency, security, and scalability. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical projects that impact national security, utilizing cutting-edge tools and methodologies to streamline development and operational processes. Qualifications The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications: Proven experience working within Agile, SCRUM, or DevOps delivery models. Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible. Proficiency in building and deploying large-scale applications within Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines. Experience with containerization and orchestration systems including ECS, AKS, Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker. Strong understanding of automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI, or their cloud equivalents. Proficiency in scripting languages and source control systems. Security Clearance: All candidates must already hold DV and be eligible for eDV. Responsibilities The primary responsibilities for this role include: Building and configuring development tools and infrastructure to support seamless deployment and integration processes. Collaborating with project stakeholders to understand their technical needs and translate them into effective solutions. Automating and optimizing development and release workflows to improve efficiency and reliability. Ensuring all systems are secure and resilient against cyber security threats, implementing best practices for security and compliance. Identifying and troubleshooting technical issues, developing software updates, patches, and solutions to address vulnerabilities or bugs. Coordinating with other engineering teams to ensure development activities align with established processes and standards, maintaining quality and consistency across projects.
