Role Description This is a remote DevOps Engineer contract role. The DevOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable software delivery across multiple environments. The role involves managing infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools, administering Linux-based systems, and monitoring system performance and availability. The DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with software development teams to automate build, test, and deployment processes, improve release workflows, and enhance security and compliance in the delivery pipeline. Daily responsibilities also include troubleshooting deployment issues, optimizing resource usage, and documenting processes and configurations for cross-team use. Qualifications Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills, with experience using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar. Hands-on Software Development experience, enabling collaboration with engineers and understanding of code integration and deployment workflows. Proficiency in Continuous Integration practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, CircleCI) to build robust pipelines. Solid System Administration skills, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of servers and services. Advanced Linux skills, including shell scripting, package management, and security hardening. Experience with cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization/orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) and logging/monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with distributed teams, and document processes effectively. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience; relevant certifications in cloud or DevOps are a plus.
