About the job Senior DevOps Engineer – Remote Portugal! Are you passionate about building reliable infrastructure while driving smarter cloud spending? They’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong FinOps experience to become the engineering owner of cloud cost optimisation across a large-scale Google Cloud environment. This isn’t a traditional role. You’ll influence cloud strategy, work directly with Engineering and Finance leadership, build FinOps practices from the ground up, and help shape how engineering teams make cost-aware decisions without compromising reliability or performance. If you enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, automating everything possible, and making a measurable business impact, this role offers genuine ownership, visibility, and long-term career growth. What you’ll own Drive cloud cost optimisation across GCP infrastructure. Build dashboards and reporting using BigQuery, Billing exports, and Looker/Tableau. Create budgets, alerts, and governance across GCP projects. Optimise GKE, Cloud SQL, Cloud Run, compute, and storage workloads. What we’re looking for Strong experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer, with genuine hands-on exposure to cloud cost optimisation or FinOps practices. Proven experience optimising cloud costs in large-scale environments. Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (AWS background is also welcome). Strong Python scripting and automation skills.
