About The Role We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join Tombola's Game Studio Infrastructure team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, automation, and software deployment. As a DevOps Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient cloud platforms primarily on AWS. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, reliability, and security of Tombola's gaming platforms, which are enjoyed by millions of users globally. Collaborating closely with software developers, QA, security, and infrastructure teams, you will drive initiatives that improve deployment pipelines, optimize cloud resources, and enhance overall platform stability. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about solving complex infrastructure challenges, automating processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within a dynamic environment. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, industry experience, and a proactive mindset. Essential qualifications include proven experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering role, with a strong background in AWS cloud services and cloud-native infrastructure. Candidates should have hands-on experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like TeamCity, Git, AWS CodePipeline, or CodeDeploy. Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or equivalent is required, along with experience managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as AWS ECS is essential. Knowledge of Windows Server administration, automation using PowerShell, and version control systems like Git is also necessary. Strong communication skills and experience working within Agile teams are vital to success in this role. Desirable qualifications include familiarity with monitoring tools like CloudWatch and Dynatrace, experience with Cloudflare, knowledge of databases, networking concepts, serverless technologies, Kubernetes, and cloud cost optimization principles. Responsibilities The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for a broad range of tasks aimed at enhancing Tombola’s cloud infrastructure and development workflows. Key responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code practices with Terraform and CloudFormation. You will work to improve platform scalability, resilience, and performance while optimizing cloud resources to balance cost and efficiency. Building, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines using tools such as TeamCity, Git, and AWS deployment services will be a core part of your role, automating build, test, and deployment processes to ensure rapid and reliable releases. Monitoring infrastructure and application health through CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and other observability tools will be essential for maintaining platform stability. You will investigate production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will participate in technical reviews, contribute operational expertise, and promote automation and DevOps best practices. Ensuring infrastructure security and compliance by embedding security into deployment pipelines, managing vulnerability patches, and supporting disaster recovery planning will also be critical. Additionally, producing clear documentation and sharing knowledge across teams will support operational excellence.
