About The Role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our esteemed defense client’s team. This pivotal role involves deploying and managing applications across cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in automating deployment pipelines, optimizing infrastructure, and enhancing system security to support critical defense projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable, reliable, and secure systems that meet stringent security and performance standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology within a dynamic and secure environment, contributing directly to national defense and security initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in DevOps practices, with experience working in Agile, SCRUM, and DevOps delivery models. Essential qualifications include proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and expertise in infrastructure as code tools like Terraform, Puppet, Chef, or Ansible. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in building and deploying large-scale applications within Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines, utilizing container platforms and orchestration systems such as ECS, AKS, Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker. Familiarity with automation and integration tools like Jenkins, Concourse CI, or their cloud equivalents is required. Additionally, strong scripting skills and experience with source control systems are necessary. Candidates must also hold or be eligible for a DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance, with eligibility for eDV, as all candidates must already hold this clearance.
Responsibilities
Building and setting up development tools, environments, and infrastructure to support efficient software deployment and operations.
Understanding the needs and requirements of project stakeholders to deliver tailored DevOps solutions that align with project goals.
Automating and enhancing development, testing, and release processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and security.
Implementing and maintaining security measures to safeguard systems against cyber threats, ensuring compliance with security standards.
Identifying technical issues within systems or processes and developing effective software updates and solutions to resolve them.
Collaborating with other engineering teams to ensure development practices adhere to established standards and function as intended.
Monitoring system performance and implementing improvements to optimize operational stability and scalability.
