About Humbility
Humbility is an algorithmic cryptocurrency trading firm operating across DeFi and CeFi on multiple chains and exchanges. We build low-latency, market-neutral arbitrage systems in a highly competitive environment.
Our team of 50+ Software Engineers and Data Analysts thrives on solving mathematical and logical challenges at the cutting edge. As a private capital company without external clients, we have the freedom to take calculated risks, invest in emerging technologies, and pursue ambitious technical directions that client-facing organizations cannot. We build for scale, speed, and reliability—not to minimize costs.
We are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to own the systems and infrastructure behind our central analytics data platform. The platform powers strategy research and ML model training at petabyte scale and continues to grow. You will operate, extend, and evolve the data platform systems to support changing analytical use cases across trading strategy teams. Join us!
In this position, you will:
Own, operate, and evolve the infrastructure behind Humbility's central analytics data platform
Work with Spark, Iceberg, ClickHouse, Kafka, and Kubernetes in an on-prem, open-source environment handling high data volumes: petabyte-scale data and 2M+ events per second
Work closely with data engineers and infrastructure engineers to improve the platform's reliability, scalability, and performance
Own the systems underneath the pipelines, not the pipeline logic itself — while contributing ideas across infrastructure and data engineering to ensure the platform performs reliably at scale
Build internal tooling for diagnostics, performance analysis, capacity planning, operational automation, and platform observability
Modify open-source tools to fit Humbility's use cases, maintain internal forks, and contribute to open-source data projects where relevant
We expect you to have:
Strong hands-on experience operating distributed data systems in production
Experience with Kafka, Spark, Iceberg, and analytical databases such as ClickHouse or similar OLAP / columnar stores
Comfortable working with Kubernetes and GitOps-style deployment workflows
Experience with monitoring, alerting, incident response, performance tuning, and production troubleshooting
Strong infrastructure fundamentals: Linux, networking, storage, and resource management
Python and SQL skills for automation, diagnostics, and internal tooling
Proficiency in English
You will stand out if you have:
Experience with on-prem or self-managed open-source data platforms
A history of contributing to open-source data infrastructure projects
Java and/or Scala experience, especially with JVM-based data systems
Experience in trading or cryptocurrency domains
We promise:
A culture of excellence. Join a team of top-tier engineers and analysts solving hard problems in a fast-moving market.
Get rewarded for impact. Yearly bonuses and performance reviews tied directly to your contributions.
Connect, compete, unwind. Regular team-building activities, company events, sports, chess tournaments, game nights, and more.
Health comes first. Private health insurance included.
The little things, covered. Fully stocked kitchen and free parking at our Vilnius office.
The salary range for this position is €5,000 – €10,000 gross per month.
