About The Role The Cloud Engineer - Junior position at ASM Research offers an exciting opportunity for individuals seeking to develop their expertise in cloud infrastructure and automation within a dynamic enterprise environment. Under the guidance of senior cloud engineers, the successful candidate will support the deployment, management, and security of cloud-based services across major commercial cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure. The role involves provisioning cloud resources, implementing Infrastructure as Code, and ensuring the reliability and security of cloud workloads. This position is ideal for professionals with foundational cloud experience who are eager to expand their skills in cloud architecture, networking, and security practices. The role emphasizes collaborative problem-solving, continuous learning, and adherence to enterprise standards to maintain secure, compliant, and cost-effective cloud environments. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field Foundational experience (1-3 years) in cloud engineering or IT infrastructure roles Exposure to cloud resource provisioning, automation, and security concepts in an enterprise or client setting Ability to meet DoD 8140 requirements and obtain/maintain an active Secret clearance US citizenship to support federal client and clearance requirements Effective communication skills and ability to work remotely within a team environment Responsibilities Assist with provisioning and managing cloud resources across platforms such as AWS and Azure, following established patterns and guardrails Support Infrastructure as Code development and maintenance using tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or similar frameworks Implement basic cloud networking configurations including virtual networks, subnets, routing, and connectivity under the supervision of senior engineers Apply foundational cloud security practices, including IAM configuration, role and policy management, and access control implementation Monitor cloud environments using native tools, assist in troubleshooting performance, and resolve availability issues Support cloud cost management initiatives by identifying unused or underutilized resources and recommending optimization actions Assist in implementing backup, recovery, and business continuity processes aligned with enterprise standards Document cloud configurations, standard operating procedures, and runbooks to ensure operational consistency and team knowledge sharing Benefits Competitive salary package aligned with industry standards Health, dental, and vision insurance plans Retirement savings plans with company contributions Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for professional development and certification support Work-life balance initiatives and flexible work arrangements Inclusive and diverse workplace culture Equal Opportunity ASM Research is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment.
