About the job Role Description We are seeking a highly motivated Cloud Engineer to support the design, implementation, and optimization of secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure. Responsibilities include provisioning virtual machines, storage solutions, networking resources, databases, load balancers, and cloud-native services. The candidate will monitor infrastructure performance, troubleshoot system issues, optimize resource utilization, and implement automation solutions to improve deployment efficiency and reduce operational overhead. The role also involves supporting infrastructure as code (IaC) initiatives, configuration management, and continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. The position requires collaborating with software development, DevOps, cybersecurity, networking, and IT operations teams to ensure seamless integration between cloud infrastructure and business applications. The candidate will assist in application migrations, cloud adoption projects, disaster recovery planning, backup management, and business continuity initiatives while maintaining high standards of security and reliability. Additional responsibilities include monitoring system health, analyzing performance metrics, maintaining cloud documentation, supporting capacity planning, optimizing operational costs, implementing security controls, managing identity and access configurations, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and industry best practices. The successful candidate will participate in incident response, root cause analysis, system upgrades, patch management, and continuous infrastructure improvements. The role also includes evaluating emerging cloud technologies, recommending architecture enhancements, supporting digital transformation initiatives, and identifying opportunities to improve infrastructure scalability, resilience, automation, and operational efficiency. The candidate will contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and process standardization to promote continuous improvement across cloud operations. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or equivalent professional qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, virtualization, networking, and distributed systems. Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Knowledge of cloud architecture principles, high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery strategies. Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar technologies. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration. Understanding of networking concepts including DNS, VPN, firewalls, routing, load balancing, and network security. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation frameworks. Knowledge of scripting or automation languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies. Understanding of monitoring and logging tools for infrastructure performance and system health. Familiarity with cloud security principles, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and compliance best practices. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities with the capability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to prepare technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and system reports. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining infrastructure reliability and security. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
