
Claude AI Engineer Technical Mentor - Independent Contractor

Accountabilities: As a Claude AI Engineer Technical Mentor, you will support learners through personalized guidance, technical discussions, and interactive sessions focused on applied AI engineering. You will help students understand complex concepts, improve their projects, and develop practical skills aligned with industry needs. Provide personalized 1:1 mentoring sessions to answer learner questions, review projects, and help overcome technical challenges. Prepare and deliver technical deep-dive sessions covering concepts, practical applications, and industry use cases. Host group Q&A sessions through virtual channels to support learners with coursework and project-related questions. Review learner submissions and provide constructive technical feedback to improve their understanding and implementation skills. Guide students through Claude AI ecosystem concepts, including APIs, agent development, automation workflows, and AI-powered applications. Share practical insights from real-world engineering experience to help learners connect theory with industry practices. Encourage problem-solving, experimentation, and confidence-building throughout the learning journey. Stay engaged with evolving AI technologies and contribute to improving the overall mentoring experience. Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced AI or software engineering professional with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others succeed in technology. 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, AI engineering, machine learning, or related technical fields. Strong knowledge of the Claude AI ecosystem, including Claude API, Claude Code, Claude Agent SDK, and Model Context Protocol (MCP). Experience building agentic AI solutions, including AI agents, multi-agent systems, orchestration, tool calling, and workflow design. Strong understanding of prompt engineering, context engineering, structured outputs, and AI validation techniques. Proficiency in Python, REST APIs, JSON, and Bash/Shell scripting. Experience with software architecture, system design, API design, code reviews, and engineering best practices. Familiarity with SQL, data extraction, error handling, state management, and human-in-the-loop workflows. Knowledge of DevOps practices, including Git, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and MCP server integration. Experience working with real-world data projects in analytics, engineering, or architecture. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly. Passion for mentoring, coaching, and creating positive learning environments.
