
Backend Software Engineer (Infrastructure-Focused)

Accountabilities: The Backend Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services while contributing to the infrastructure foundations that enable reliable and scalable operations. This role combines application development with platform engineering responsibilities, requiring strong ownership of cloud systems, automation, and production reliability. Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript. Architect and improve Infrastructure as Code solutions that support dynamic Kubernetes scaling and orchestration. Develop and maintain Docker-based deployment pipelines and runtime environments. Design deployment strategies and scaling approaches across multiple services and environments. Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to improve system resilience, observability, security, and operational efficiency. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance, reliability, and infrastructure costs. Document infrastructure patterns, operational processes, and technical best practices. Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies and approaches in backend engineering and cloud infrastructure. Requirements: The ideal candidate is a technically strong backend engineer with hands-on experience managing production infrastructure and building scalable systems. You should be comfortable working across application code and infrastructure layers, with a strong understanding of Kubernetes, cloud environments, and automation practices. Strong professional experience with backend software development using Node.js and TypeScript. Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including autoscaling, capacity management, cluster lifecycle management, production debugging, and incident response. Proven experience building and operating Dockerized workloads in production environments. Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or similar technologies. Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable backend systems. Strong understanding of reliability, observability, security, and performance optimization principles. Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and infrastructure teams. Strong problem-solving skills with a systems-oriented mindset and attention to detail.
